CAUCHIE TILEMaison Cauchie in Brussels displays an impressive Art Nouveau facade that inspired this ceramic etched tile. The scraffito surfaces of the gilded building depict eight female figures symbolizing the Arts. The textures, lines and rhythm appealed to me and they are reflected in my design. Additionally, the building was both house and studio to Cauchie, a further indication that it should influence my own artwork as my current passion in life is the continuing art project of new home and new studio.
